Picnic Areas
Our two picnic areas (Kloof Falls and Nkutu) provide serene spaces for visitors to unwind beneath indigenous trees, immersing themselves in the captivating beauty of Krantzkloof.
Bringing or consuming any alcohol within the picnic areas or elsewhere in the Reserve is NOT allowed
Kloof Falls: (re-opened December 2023)
Our Kloof Falls picnic area has undergone a transformation. With careful planning and dedication, we’ve created a more appealing space for you to connect with nature and enjoy moments of serenity.
Key Enhancements:
-
- Green Islands Between Picnic Spots: Embracing the natural beauty of Krantzkloof, we’ve introduced green spaces between picnic spots.
- Indigenous Planting for Wildlife Attraction: The green islands are adorned with indigenous plants carefully selected by our Honorary Officers. As they grow these plants will create a haven for insects and birds. We invite you to witness the vibrant ecosystem as it comes to life, adding to the charm of your picnic experience.
- New Braai grids: In collaboration with our Honorary Officers, Fabri-Tek has installed new braai grids at our Kloof Falls picnic area to enhance the visitor experience and exemplify our commitment to providing top-notch facilities for everyone to enjoy.
- Ablution upgrade: The Honorary Officers have funded an upgrade to our ablution facilities, thanks to funds generated from the Krantzkloof Trail Run. This upgrade elevates the visitor experience, and we extend our gratitude to the Honorary Officers for their dedication to enhancing Krantzkloof Nature Reserve.
A sincere thank you to Adviceworx for their invaluable sponsorship of the Honorary Officers, contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of the Kloof Falls picnic area. Their commitment ensures that this beautiful space remains a welcoming haven for all visitors at Krantzkloof Nature Reserve.
Nkutu (Valley Drive): (Currently closed & expected to re-open in 2024)
